10″ Windows 7 China Tablet goes for 22k

There are so many versions of tablet PCs in the grey market we already lost count but this one spotted at TPC looks interesting — a 10-inch capacitive tablet PC running Windows 7 on an Intel Atom CPU.

10.1″ multi-touch capactive display @ 1366×768 pixel
Intel Atom N455 @ 1.66GHz
Intel GMA 3150
1GB DDR3 RAM
32GB SSD storage
WiFi 802.11 a/b/g
microSD card slot
LAN port
mini-USB port
2 x USB 2.0 ports
Front-facing camera
3.5G support (via Mini PCI-E V1.2 slot)
G -sensor

The device is a bit heavy at 900grams. It’s not pre-installed with any OS but you can hook up an external DVD or USB drive to install Windows 7 — basically like a netbook without the keyboard. The 3-cell Li-Po battery lasts about 2 to 3 hours only. The price — Php22,000.

  2. MrOrange says:

actually weight and specs of a netbook, more like the capacitive of a Lenovo s10-3T also the battery like of a netbook. @Anon actually the SSD seems t be the costlier part, was in chat with the seller. Looks kinda nice problem is the after sales support, if there is any at all.

  3. IPAD China made here says:

Expensive, not reliable maker, weigh like a netbook. What more can you ask for

  4. Pippo says:

Will you be doing a review? Im quite interested but dont know about the quality of the touchscreen.. The calibration and speed in particular.. I have used china phones for the past 2 years and have no major problems as some may perceive.. Just handle it with proper care and it should be okay.. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but if it has USB ports, isnt it also true that you can put a USB powered keyboard (im thinking wireless from Logitech) so you can have a keyboard.?

  5. Anon says:

Apparently people don’t understand how the tech world works.

Everything is made in China. As an importer and rebrander of products, I can say that China makes top-quality products. Your HP monitors are most often Chimei monitors (okay, that’s pushing it. Chimei is Taiwanese). Seriously, a lot of products in the market right now are products like these, only rebranded.

I believe that the costliness of this device stems from the 32G SSID drive. Those things are still expensive.

  6. Geobz says:

Don’t discount chinese brands as lemons. Remember the big japanese brands started out the same way. That being said however, doesn’t excuse them from offering the required post-sales support.

With regards to this tablet pc, the specs mentioned leave me thinking that the biggest problem here would be battery life. 2-3 hours is not a whole lot. The weight and most probably the heat coming from the device would be the other obstacles for it to be truly “portable” in every sense.

  7. David says:

I think these things need to get a lot cheaper to make sense. It would be nice to see a major brand release something for around $200/P10K. And it could run Android instead of Windows 7.

  8. kidlat08 says:

Good thing i already bought my dream tablet, Dell Streak. Now im good for another year or 2.

  9. trickz85 says:

ITS A BIG BIG NO, NO… too expensive and specs are quite low

  10. MrOrange says:

2-3 hours is about on par. My VAIO W only last 2 to 2 and a half hours on full brightness. My other Wind U100 lasts about 3 hours with a 6-cell and XP. the Vaio is using windows 7 ultimate. So 2-3 hours is on average unless there is an external battery or a larger Cell. since on average laptops (full sized) a 6-Cell is usually 2 hours more or less and 4-Cell is around 1-2 hours. these figures are general and still depends on usage, power settings etc…

  11. Tsk says:

    Battery life is a joke.

  12. ferie says:

@Unknown Soldier: even ipad and iphones are china made… or even your mobile phone you’re holding right now.

“God created China… and the rest was made by them!”

    ugly batteries

  14. Batangas Network says:

    malamang titirik din yan kaagad!

  15. Unknown Soldier says:

    another junk in the market!

china! please stop manufacturing crappy gadget please!

  16. cutemoboy says:

another china made w/ no brand.. STAY AWAY! PLS!

  17. ferie says:

just wait for few more months at bababa na rin presyo nito, OK din to kung magiging successful ang Intel Appup (designed for Atom processors) at makahabol sa Apple App store and Android market.

My only big issue with this tablet (maliban sa presyo!) is its battery life, baka less than 2 hrs with wifi on.

  18. Sablay to! says:

    Sablay to…

  19. Adrian says:

    I still prefer iPad.

  20. Darren says:

    what a crap, lol!!!

  21. Eason says:

I’ll rather but the Multi touch Netbook of Asus :)

Plus its China’s Black market product, expect problems after 1 month

  22. Guy says:

its weight is a big turn-off. I’d rather buy a netbook.

  23. archie says:

i think what makes it expensive is its os, perhaps we can buy it without os, then its cheap.

  24. 9balls says:

exactly what i want, for half the price,
i’ll wait for a few more months, i’m sure the price will go down

  25. kimkae77 says:

    wehhhh..no brand for that price?

  26. kobe67 says:

i will go for netbook kaysa dito., it’s too expensive.

  27. nico says:

    suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucky

  28. Jhay says:

I’d get a netbook instead. Or you could install Ubuntu or some flavor of Linux instead. Save you from further expense.

  29. tantra2gadget says:

Ok na sana kya lang mahal, and the alternative is to buy branded netb0ok na lang

  30. poche says:

kaso ang bigat parang netbook na talaga to.

  31. ferie says:

looks promising… an iPad alternative! Hopefully you can make a review.

  32. raymond says:

Same price as a netbook with a reliable brand name such as ASUS.

  33. -m says:
