AKG introduces new high-end headphones

A new line of high-end AKG headphones were introduced yesterday at the JBL Acoustical Space at SM Megamall, giving audiophiles a new reason to cash out on the latest acoustic piece and better eargasm.

Here are some of the new headphones featured:

K451

The K451 is a foldable mini-headset that can also be used to make hands-free calls thanks to its in-line remote control and microphone. It has detachable cables and a 3D-Axis2 folding mechanism for easy storage. Selling price is at Php 7,590.

K495NC

The K495NC has an active noise-cancelling technology as the NC suggests. Some parts are made from brushed metal for added durability. It has detachable cables, same 3D-Axis2 folding mechanism, continuous sound even when the battery runs out, and is USB chargeable. Selling price is at Php 22,390.

K514 MKII

The K514 MKII is a natural-sound stereo headphone capable of delivering the airy and natural AKG sound. It is lightweight with a self-adjusting headband for a comfortable fit. You can check out our review of the headphone here. Selling price is at Php4,590.

K550

The K550 is a closed-back headphone, meaning it is effective in preventing sound leaks while at the same time can still offer the open sound experience of an open-back type for that typical “speakers” sound. It has a 50mm AKG driver (the largest in the product line), 2D-Axis folding mechanism, and large ear cups. Selling price is at Php14,990.

Quincy Jones Line

Good ol’ Quincy is here as well. It’s like showing the new kids on the block how audio should be delivered. The Q701 (available in black, green and white) is a top of the line headphone that will surely satisfy any audiophile. Shell out Php25,990 and it’s yours.

K3003i

They always said to save the best for the last. The finale during the event is the introduction of the world’s smallest true 3-way reference-quality earphones, the AKG K3003i, which I lovingly call, “The Show Off!”.

It has the state-of-the-art hybrid technology, containing one dynamic and two balanced-armature drivers in each earphone. It also has three pairs of sound-tuning filters, housing made in brushed stainless-steel, and in-line microphone and remote control. Costs Php60,000. Any takers?

The AKG headphones are available at the JBL Acoustical Space, 4th Floor, SM Megamall Bldg B.
