Archos 101 Android Tablet lands in November

A total of five (5) new Android tablets will be released by Archos in the Philippines (and the rest of Asia) by the first week of November with the Archos 101 as the flagship model.

Archos 101
10.1 inch display @ 1024×600 pixel capacitive screen
1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU
16GB internal storage
720p HD video playback
VGA camera
HDMI port
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1
Price: Php19,990

If the 10.1″ Archos 101 is too big for you, the Archos 70 is the smaller, 7″ model with the same specs but cheaper price.

Archos 70
7″ display @ 800×480 pixel capacitive screen
1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU
720p HD video playback
VGA camera
HDMI, USB ports
8GB Flash or 250GB HDD model
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1
Archos 70 250GB price: Php16,990
Archos 70 8GB price: Php15,490

This one looks to have much better specs than the Cherry Mobile Superion at a cheaper price. Three other smaller Android tablets will be available as well with specs and photos here.

Archos 43 16GB – Php12,990
Archos 32 8GB – Php8,490
Archos 28 8GB – Php6,490

All models will run Android Froyo 2.2, the reason the release was delayed by a month (as Archos upgraded the tablets from 2.1 before they released it).

The listed prices above are still tentative until they finally arrive but expect them to be near these price points. Archos PH is accepting reservations. Just email [email protected].

Nearly all of what you assert happens to be astonishingly accurate and that makes me ponder why I hadn’t looked at this with this light previously. This piece really did turn the light on for me personally as far as this particular topic goes. But there is 1 factor I am not necessarily too cozy with so while I attempt to reconcile that with the actual central idea of your issue, allow me see exactly what the rest of the visitors have to point out.Nicely done.

  3. Dysnerie says:

Where can i buy Archos brand here in philippines, Manila Area..

    • Erin says:

villman, or visit megamall cyberzone. i think it can be more cost-effective if you have the option to buy from archosph.com

      ciao!

  4. Pea says:

The vega camera is situated sa harap, di ba? So, pwede ka ba mag-webcam sa skype or YM…hmmm…need infos on this, pls…thank you… :)

  5. Chu says:

@Wendy C Archos 5 is what i have, but that is the older model. Based on the previous blogs os Yugatech, the Gen8 series are the new model. And the counterpart of Archos 5 is Archos 43, Archos 7 is Archos 70. Personally, I would go for Archos 70 because it is already using capacitive touchscreen.

  6. Wendy C. says:

@Chu: thank you for your response :) ive read a lot of reviews, ngdadalawang isip na tuloy ako wat to choose between archos 5 & 70. they said archos 5 is still better than archos 70..

  7. Chu says:

@Wendy C: my friend made a pre-order at s****@****.***. No down payment daw. First week of december daw ang release and datin.

@Bullet Valencia: me and my friend also went to v-mall, and was also informed about that. We found our that they were referring to Archos 7 Home Tablet which is the older one… I guess the confusion start with the Archos 7 and Archos 7″0″.

  8. Bullet Valencia says:

there is also an msi tablet and it looks good on photo..can you also write a review of that intriguing tablet? If i’m not mistaken,it will run on android 3. Is it better than 2.2?

  9. Bullet Valencia says:

hi,when will these archos be made available to the public?I went to viramall last week and they offered me archos 5 instead.According to them, archos 70 is already out of stock….is it possible that viramall has that while the philippine distributor of this product says it will be out on the first week of December, the earliest?

  10. Wendy C. says:

    Hi,
do you know where to buy Archos 70 250HD model here in manila? thank you!

  11. top says:

how much for Archos 101 8gb?

  12. islacom says:

Paired with Globe MyFi perfect alternative for iPad 16gb wifi version

  13. Ian says:

@Chu: Ah! Ok I get it now, thanks for that clarification. P20k seems fair then for the 16GB version.

  14. Chu says:

@Ian I guess the USD300 and 300 euro price tag for Archos 101 is for the 8gb model. I heard the P19,990 is for the 16gb.

  15. Ian says:

P19,990 for the Archos 101? A little steep considering it retails for $299 in the US. Even with tax, the converted price would still be under P15,000.

Hope that Archos can bring the price down when its officially launched.

I’d be ready to buy one if they do get the price to a more competetive level.

  16. kiEL says:

if Archos will be release here in the Philippines, where can I buy these products? Is there any Archos Concept store?

  17. jums says:

you may use joikuspot or wmwifirouter to share internet connection on your phone with your wifi-only tablet…

i still want my Kindle!!! (haha ang layo :-))

  18. xtian1986 says:

    @Rose

archos 101 has USB port while archos 70 has mini USB port.

  19. mark aznar says:

Im still patiently.waiting.for the samsung galaxy tab 32gig.. When is this thing ever gonna get released?? Called samsung already and was just advised that they have no idea. Lame! Samsung our gonna lose a buyer if you keep on putting us in the dark!

  20. Rose says:

so… The Archos 101 has no USB ports? They both (101 and 70) don’t have 3G?

Please let it just be a lapse in information…

  21. YuYu says:

wish there was an Archos 70 model w/ HSPA @ ~15k*. Now that would make Cherry & Samsung a run for their money!

*praying that there will be one before xmas. hopefully much lower than 15k too! :D

  22. kim says:

kaya mahal ang Superion cguro kc may cellphone capabilities sya unlike Archos.

  23. Tetchie says:

It has G-sensor! Very tempting…bye bye ipod video/ ipod touch!

  24. Tetchie says:

If only the archos 70 with 250 HDD has 3G and G sensor, I will make the reservation right now!

  25. froilanG says:

Let’s wait next year. Rumor has it that android ready tablet will be release.

  26. unoberkano says:

Suddenly the cherry mobile superion became expensive because of Archos 70

  27. Nomer says:

    Okay, but no 3G.?

  28. Rose says:

Wow, it really pays to wait! Let all the tablets come out so we can reject and select.

  29. Sonofa says:

    Android Market nalang…
    nandyan naman si getjar

  30. lawrence says:

“This one looks to have much better specs than the Cherry Mobile Superion at a cheaper price.”

IMO, better specs is relative. Whereas the Archos 70 has a better CPU, Superion has 3G/HSPDA 7.2, GPS/AGPS, G-Sensor and two cameras (other one being 3MP). so it depends on your needs.

wow..20k?..he he he..pag wala nyan dito sa dubai bibili ako pagbakasyon ko nxtyear march..really want a tablet one with a capacitive screen..since im an android user now..i like HTC more than IPHONE maybe its because of the social integration on my contacts list..nice one yuga..sure ito na gusto ko he he he…

  36. raymond says:

the Archos tablet can only play 720p hd videos. has only a VGA camera, and doesn’t have cellphone capabilities…

  37. xtian1986 says:

seems cooler than galaxy tab. hmm

  38. manibela says:

Yipee! Finally! Confirmation! And just enough time to save!

There’s no telephony but I think this one can be tethered to a mobile phone. Or buy one of those Mifi like devices if you find the need for it.

    Archos 70 8 GB please!

    But I should wait for a review right?…. I really don’t want heat problems…

  39. Wakocoke says:

there’s a hack for archos tablet to run android marketplace :)

  40. froilanG says:

I know that there is an .apk file that can install android market on the archos 32

  41. imitator101 says:

still waiting on the Viewsonic G Tablet.. $429 with NVidia Tegra processor, 3G capability, and a 10 inch screen.

    goo.gl/jXpt

anyone know if it’s coming here?

  42. Yol Joyce says:

wow! this sounds great! i might get it for my son. He will surely love it as well as i love my HTC desire phone.

  43. Harley says:

loving this! looking forward for it!

  44. jums says:

wow!!!! ito na lang ang bibilhin ko kaysa sa kindle! may kindle for android naman eh!

  45. kim says:

may sim card slot ba sya?

  46. Alexei Rivera says:

Interesting price points on these Archos tablets. They’re even competing with Cherry’s Superion. What I’m guessing is that they don’t have telephony though, right?

  47. petken says:

    @yuga

wow!!! I might change my mind about buying a galaxy tab… Archos 101 has the same price as Cherry Mobile Superion but with a higher resolution and a bigger screen plus Archos as the Brand… mmm… these tablets are really tempting…

  48. Erin says:

If these are similar to the Vega tablet then they won’t have access to the Android Market but instead to the Archos app library. 50K apps daw but like what one tech site stated, the number of really useful apps are yet to be discovered.

btw, the Vega tablet maker said that should a new android version come out in January then it might have a possibility of having access to the android marketplace.

  49. froilanG says:

I do hope that these android pmp’s will have android market installed.

  50. Abe Olandres says:

@watusi – there’s the link up there, just above the price list.

@petken – yes, officially released by 1st week of November. Last time, Ambassador and KimStore were carrying the older models.

  51. petken says:

Will this be officially available? As in, will be officially launched and distributed by legitimate sellers?

  52. watusi says:

WHAT are the sizes of LCD acrhos 43,32,28?

  53. Abe Olandres says:

    @justin – yes, Android 2.2 Froyo.

  54. Justin says:

hi bro. any word on whether these tablets will have android 2.2 froyo installed?
