Any sound engineer who can explain the pricing of a gadget that serves only one purpose? Not trolling nagtataka lang bakit mahal ang ganitong products.
adobotj says:
Actually it’s has 2 functions.
1. It’s a digital to analog converter (DAC)
2. It’s also an amp (not a strict amp but can generate high voltage from th DAC itself to drive most headphones that amplifies the sound of the source).
The reason why it’s expensive is that the DAC chip aren’t the usual chips that can be bought from other manufacturers. They build their own DAC chips from ground-up. Meaning, all the parameters, measurements, formulas, are made by chord with the audiophile quality in mind.
It’s also expensive because chord is somewhat of a boutique audio equipment manufacturer that is well renowned for its superb sound and quality. There’s a lot of reviews on head-fi.org if you want to know more about the Chord Mojo.
Hope this helps. Cheers!
