DJI Mini 3 now official

DJI has just launched a cheaper version of their Mini 3 Pro drone, the DJI Mini 3.

While the Mini 3 offers the same camera sensor and lightweight 249-gram frame as the Mini 3 Pro, the Mini 3 cuts out a few notable features to allow for a lower price tag.

The main difference that the Mini 3 has with the Mini 3 Pro is that the Mini does not have the Pro’s “Tri-Directional Obstacle Sensing” feature and is capped to shooting at 4K at 30fps, instead of 60fps.

Obstacle Sensing allowed the Pro to avoid obstacles from forward, backward, and downward-facing directions through the use of sensors.

The Mini 3 also omits the Mini 3 Pro’s ActiveTrack feature, which allowed the drone to track and follow objects or persons marked by the user.

Even with the feature cuts, the Mini 3 retains the Mini 3 Pro’s f/1.7 aperture camera, which still beats out DJI’s similarly-priced Mini 2, which has an f/2.8 aperture. The Mini 3 also offers the same True Vertical Shooting and Large-angle Tilt features of the Mini 3 Pro.

The Mini 3 is priced at USD $559PHP 32,805INR 47,375EUR 532CNY 4,069 (with a compatible remote controller), which is a big drop in price compared to the Mini 3 Pro’s USD $759PHP 44,542INR 64,325EUR 723CNY 5,524 price tag. This is equivalent to around P30,950 (converting from P55.38 = USD $1PHP 59INR 85EUR 0.95CNY 7).
