My recent visit to the Technology Innovation Center of RedFox a couple of weeks ago also introduced me to the local distributor AsianTech and and a number of brands they carry.
They also have this new upcoming brand of gaming mice called Icon7. This one model they gave me as a token is the Icon7 Z500 which is a laser gaming mouse (took the 2009 Red Dot Award).
I think this is their top-of-the-line gaming mouse which comes with a fabric cover instead of the usual plastic. The fabric cover is also interchangeable and comes with an extra cover out of the box (it’s usually the palm area where the mouse gets worn out faster). Could be useful for those with sweaty palms too.
Also notice that the side buttons are positioned at the top and bottom corner and not the usual front and back (makes for easier access when assigning shortcuts during gameplay).
The Z500 can be adjusted to 5 different speeds/accuracies with DPIs’ of 800, 1200, 1600, 2000 and 3200. Been using it for some time now when playing StarCraft 2 and been loving it ever since. It’s pretty accurate, easy to control and very comfortable in the hands.
I haven’t gotten the exact date when it will be released locally but it could be first quarter of next year. As for the price, they’re looking at somewhere north of Php3,000 for this model.
