As mentioned previously, there is an app for both Android and iOS which is free to download. We installed it, had our smartphone connect to the action cam thru Wi-Fi, keyed in its default password (123456789), and we were paired. Everything was working flawlessly up until that point. However, once we started exploring the software, we were not so satisfied with its performance.
Communication between the app and the device was slower than with GoPro’s software. From switching between tabs to accessing the camera’s recorded files, we had to wait for a few minutes before it accomplished the tasks.
When it finally read the stored files we had in the device, the video froze just after playing the first few seconds and it would just stay that way. It was a bit frustrating since playback was a hit and miss — sometimes you could play your captured footage, and sometimes you just couldn’t.
In short, the app wasn’t very reliable.
Image quality was where we found the Air Pro 3 to deliver satisfactory results. Images were sharp and not pixelated. Colors proved vibrant, but not overly-done. Looking at it in general, we could say picture quality on this thing could match up to GoPro’s current offerings in terms of color, clarity, and how the device interlaced its video to produce smooth motion.
You may check out the sample video below where we used its helmet mount and took the camera for a spin on a mountain bike trail. Although do take note that since we mounted it on the side of the helmet, the picture yielded portrait images.
The company claims that the Air Pro 3 could last up to two and a half hours depending on usage. We had the device record Full HD video continuously with Wi-Fi turned off and started to time it from a full charge. Sadly, we only managed to drain its 2100mAh battery in a span of 1 hour and 13 minutes before it died out — only half of the claimed battery performance.
The iON Air Pro 3 is a decent action camera to have around — it shoots videos with vibrant and crisp images, has a tough housing, and (in our opinion) looks more “action ready” than the GoPro’s square form factor.
However, since this has been launched from all the way back in October of 2013, one may find its specs and features to be somehow outdated by recent releases. It also has a laggy and uninspiring app so that’s one thing to consider as well.
Priced at Php14,500, the iON Air Pro 3 is available at Lazada and you may check the listing on its website.

Na experienced ko na gamitin ito, all I can say is so GOOD. Bukod sa maganda at crisp na ang resolution, water proof din kahit wlang casing, tapos muka pang Flash light kaya iwas nakaw pa!!
Ma-eenjoy mo tlga ito lalo na kung adventurer ka or sport enthusiast.
And Speaking of the price, affordable naman siya.
