Amazon has refreshed its e-Reader with a graphite-colored Kindle DX. Still the same Kindle but with 50% better contrast and slightly cheaper than before.
The Kindle DX became available in the Philippines back in January and was selling for $489. It’s now down to just $379 or 22.5% price decrease.
I think this is a reaction to the brisk sales of the Apple iPad. You can get the Kindle DX from Amazon here and have it shipped directly to your home address in the Philippines.

I’m thinking of buying the 139$ or the 189$ kindle. but I don’t really know anything about the device, except that it’s an ebook reader. Does the kindle really have to be an international edition so it can be used outside the US? I know that you can transfer files via usb connection, so is an internet connection really necessary for the reader to be used? thanks :)

I can wait things out. I love the concept of the Kindle but am not ready to fork over the money for it. Will wait for further price reduction.
Jhay says:
When the price gets a little lower, then I’d go order one. Until then, I’m happy with printed books all the same!
Teknisyan says:
nice.. but still kindle is not well known here that is why you don’t see it on retail stores. I guess.. amazon already sign up to one of the BPO company here.. since they already have a customer service number outside US which is 1-206-266-0927. :)
I wonder how much is the shipping charge for this one?
deuts says:
Hmmm, it’s getting cheaper. But I hope we can already do away with the custom duties. any store already selling the kindle?
