Remeber when Microsoft introduced the Continuum feature which lets you use a Windows 10-powered smartphone into a PC? Well, the company has just introduced the hardware that will let you do just that – the Microsoft Display Dock.
The Display Dock is a small device that acts as a hub between your Windows 10 smartphone, like the recently announced Lumia 950 and 950 XL, and external PC peripherals like the monitor, keyboard and mouse.
With the help of Continuum for Phones, the smartphone will run a PC-like experience on an external monitor and lets you use productivity apps like Microsoft Office and Outlook, all the while allowing you to still use the smartphone to answer phone calls and send text messages.
Microsoft Display Dock specs:
60FPS refresh rate
1080 video output
USB-C charging connector
DisplayPort, DisplayPort over USB-C
HDMI
2x USB 2.0, USB 2.0 high current charging port
25.6 x 64.1 x 64.1 mm
230g
Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
Very nice. You don’t need to have a laptop for presentations.
Its a possible game changer for ms. I hope it wont cost more than the cheapest cherry mobile win10 phone.
