Samsung outs Galaxy Player 5.8

Samsung already has a number of Galaxy Player devices in the market but that did not stop them from creating another one. This time, it’s even bigger with the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8.

Details are still a bit sketchy but some info like the resolution (960×540 pixels), 2500mAh battery, 16/32GB internal storage, microSD slot, front-facing VGA camera, and Android 4.0 with TouchWiz UI are known. It will also have WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 1GB RAM.

The Galaxy Player 5.8 is the 5th and largest among Samsung’s Galaxy Player line-up (Galaxy Player 4, Galaxy Player 5, Galaxy Player 4.2, and Galaxy S WiFi 3.6).

  1. Magkakaroon po ng ICS update ang wifi 5.0?

    Thanks.

  2. Good afternoon po.

    Thanks.

  3. Ew. Everyone, get an iPod Touch.

    • Hahahaha! True! Samsung=waste of money. face the fact!

    • Oh yeah! And enjoy the “openness” of your OS! ROFL

    • Best Reply EVER! BURN!!! LMAO!

    • Buying the iTouch was the worst thing for me to do… 3yrs ago. It’s like buying your own handcuffs! iOS are for the no brainers who just needs a simple music player or a simple phone.

    • @Alan, 90% of Apple fanboys are surely a no brainer.

    • this can be a good option as a replacement for my ipod touch. larger screen and better spec. can have a better gtalk experience.

    • @Alan

LOL.

galaxy nexus user here, using globe sim plan 999 unli internet.

    • @JOHNP
You can use widgets even without 3G.
So you mean if you can put ‘widgets’ in your iOS device, would that make you a person with BRAIN?
You are a NO BRAINER to think that you always need internet/3G for widgets. CLOCK WIDGET? POWER WIDGETS?

STOP using your Nexus phone, such a shame to android community.

I have nothing against apple/mac here, just wanna slap this douchebag JOHNP.

    • Ew. Get a COWON. Walang basagan ng trip haha.

    • LOL!

do you even know what “no brainer” means? di ko na sasabhin, baka tumalino ka pa. LOL

stop using my nexus? LOL! its my favorite phone.

      Why not wifi at home?

      Clock widget, for OTHER CITIES.

And there is a lot widget for other purposes that doesnt need internet connection. Task and Battery managers? System Monitor Widgets? Task and Do List Widgets? Calculator Widgets? Duh.

Do you know what a widget is?
      A widget is miniature application!!

It just shows that you really are a NO-BRAINER!!!!HAHAHAHA…HAHAHAHA….

    • FYI..

No-Brainer means, EASY.. ayan, nadagdagan yung kaalaman mo. LOL

everybody knows that a widget is a program para sumabay sa desktop.

system monitor? for what? pag overheat na cpu mo? LOL!

      HAHAHA

    • “WIFI at home”

    • DOUCHEBAG!! AHAHAHAHAHA…

Task MANAGER is DIFFERENT from TASK KILLER!!! HAHAHA..You might be pertaining to TASK KILLER! HAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHA…

If you dont need to-do-list, then some people might need it. What if you are not an engineer who always bring a calculator?

But the point is, do these widgets need 3G/Wifi always? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Money can’t buy BRAIN and CLASS. And people who brag about money are those people who really dont have money.

    • “Money can’t buy BRAIN and CLASS. And people who brag about money are those people who really dont have money.”

im an engineer.. at my age, 23, i am already a supervisor.. and you? gusto mo patunay? give me your contact number… and.. scientific calc ang gamit ko, hindi cellphone >_<

"Task MANAGER is DIFFERENT from TASK KILLER!!! HAHAHA..You might be pertaining to TASK KILLER! HAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHA…"

Oh really? hahahahaha.. OK, so whats the difference? HAHAHAHA weird noob.

"But the point is, do these widgets need 3G/Wifi always? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAH."

I get your point, umpisa palang.. pero ikaw, di mo get ang point ko! hahaha, palibasa, wala kang pera. puro clock, calendar at to-do list widget lang laman ng galaxy Y mo. hahahaha YUCK!

THE POINT IS, WALANG KWENTA MGA WIDGET MO! PURO PANG PORMA, WALANG SILBE! gets?

    • I am an engineer too, but I agree with you both. May importanteng widgets na kelangan ng 3G/Wifi. But there are too many widgets also that dont need wifi. And they are not really porma lang. And if this JohnP insists to say so, ask the developers of Sense UI of HTC and other widgets for android.

    • Android user vs Android user?

Hahahaha.
As well as buses meron na rin. Kaya parehas kayong tama at mali.

      Peace out!

    • @balisacan, jorlan

thanks for input! @jorlan, yup, im not saying naman na di ka poporma, what i am saying is, pang porma lang yun, it cannot give you informations.

      @balisacan

and yes, i am also using memo, but not in my phone but on a notebook. sa engineering industry kasi di pwedeng sa phone ka lang magsulat, you need a field notebook. “todo-list or memo” on a phone is useless for people na maraming gagawin, notebook is still more effective, para lang yun sa mga konting gagawin and IMO, you dont need a “todo-list” kung konti lang naman gagawin mo.. that is my point, kaya LOLO tawag ko sa kanya. hehe

“Task Killer vs Task Manager” yup, they are basically the same, tama ka, the only thing na meron ang task manager is yung switching ng app. which is, build in sa any android phone. FYI, using task killers or managers will just slow down your phones.

3G is essential, well siguro kasi hindi pa ganun kauso dito sa pinas yun, pero pag nagkaron ka nun hindi mo na kakayanin na wala… like “internet” na hindi mo na kaya pag nawala.. hehe

    • Yeah, because the iPod Touch produces Breathtaking VGA Quality Photos.

  4. Good afternoon.

    Thanks.

  5. This is samsung answer to the forthcoming ipod touch. I wonder if this will be available locally.

  6. Rather than buying this. Just directly buy a Smartphone for crying out loud. – Just my cents.

    • But the price can be half of the smartphone. This can be a good option if you have a mobile wifi.

    • Well, I already have a phone. :)

I think it’s a good idea to have a separate music gadget. That 2500mAh battery is very attractive.

    • P & B

      PRICE & BATTERY

  7. Buy this and you will always get envy with the iOS exclusive apps and play the “new” Android games na pinagsawaan na ng Apple users :)

Peace!

    • Jailbreaking is legal bro. And that’s the edge of iOS sa Android, well just wait for the revamped iPod Touch this Sept or Oct. Touchwiz sucks :P

    • @Sanji I don’t see the point where Jailbreaking is an edge of iOS against Android. If you’re referring to the legality of rooting of Android phones, I think it’s also perfectly legal to root your device and even install custom firmwares, or much better, building your own custom firmware and installing it to your device.

  9. If this will be below 15k, I will definitely buy this. Good for my video tutorials, web browsing, reading of ebooks and great battery.

  10. lagi na lang kayong nag-aaway android at ios fanatics. bat di nyo naman subukan ang mga windows phone? mas marami itong magagawa in terms of corporate usage.

  11. this is a good media device..
lahat ng IOS at Android fan e nag aaway…
    langya…
may pros and cons ang bawat isa..

  12. ITT: Butthurt Apple fanboys spreading their “love” in an article with no mention of anything Apple anyway.

LAOS NA AGAD yung binili mo. :))

By the way, I went to Greenhills 2 weeks. You can buy one for as low as 24k. (iPhone 4S 16gb is priced at 27k)

    Again, just my two cents.

  14. … And out comes the digital Noranians (Android) and Vilmanians (iOS). Again. :-)

  15. Why limit yourself to an android or an iOS only? why not use both?
Im looking forward to Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 to replace my iPod with 3.5″.

  17. my gosh, is that annabelle rama and cristy fermin nagaaway sa taas ng comments?

samsung’s okay. it’s just that i dont want to be seen in public holding the player and giving an impression that im a social climber pretending im holding an S3. the s3 design is way too much integrated IMO.
