Zotac is known for making graphics cards, mini PCs and recently, creating PCs into VR backpacks.
200 is dubbed as the year of portable PC gaming, Zotac is not slowing down and they’re aiming to improve their VR backpack again. The latest update is called VR GO 4.0, it boasts an 11th Gen Intel Core processor and an NVIDIA RTX graphics card but they switched now to a workstation GPU.
When it comes to processor, the VR GO 4.0 boasts an Intel Core i7-11800H processor which is an 8-core / 16-thread CPU with 2.3GHz as base clock and 4.6GHz turbo frequency, and 24MB of L3 cache.
In terms of its graphics card, Zotac changed from the consumer-grade GeForce card to an RTX A4500 that features a 20GB GDDR6 memory. Reading this, this is a workstation GPU, and Zotac is surely pushing the VR industry.
The VR GO 4.0 houses also a 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 512GB M.2 SSD (expandable), 3-in-1 memory card reader, 1x HDMI 2.1, 2x DisplayPort 1.4, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 6.2, 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 4x USB 3.1, 2x USB 3.0, GbE LAN, and 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks.
To keep using the VR backpack, a pair of swappable 6,000mAh batteries will be included. A bit of a caveat is that it still has a relatively short battery life. The price is still not announced but many are guessing that it’ll be around USD 2,000.
