Gadgets in Style celebrates 8 years with Php8,888 MyView TV

Gadgets in Style, perhaps one of the most popular store that offers the best deals on TVs, is celebrating their 8th year of operation so they’re running a promo for a 29-inch LED TV from MyView at only Php8,888.88USD 151INR 12,841EUR 144CNY 1,103.

That’s a lucky number with the Chinese and the offer is only good this month. They also sent us a review unit that we can use and then give away to one of our lucky readers.

MyView is one of the very few local brands of TVs that has been around for some time. This 29-inch model is being offered in Lazada for a retail price of Php9,888USD 168INR 14,284EUR 160CNY 1,227 but Gadgets in Style is now carrying them in their stores.

The TV comes in a no-frills packaging, that’s simple and easy to install. The flatscreen LED TV has a 29-inch display size and is HD ready with a nice thin bezel. The size might not be suitable for the living room where you’d probably need 40 inches and higher sizes but could be a perfect fit in the bedroom or the kitchen as a secondary TV.

The unit has 2 USB 2.0 ports for direct playback of media files (photos, music and movies) and 2 more HDMI ports for hooking to a media tank or laptop. There’s also VGA and RCA ports as well as socket for cable TV or OTA antenna.

The box came with a remote controller and free wall-mounted bracket if you want to attach it to the wall.

We tested out the TV by connecting it to our laptop via the HDMI port to watch a movie and use the TV as an extended monitor to the PC.

Display quality is decent to good and the audio is loud enough when watching TV series. The unit also has some power-saving mode that turns off the TV after 30 seconds that it is idle or disconnected from the source.
