Yesterday evening, Samsung Philippines launched a number of new Smart TVs slated for release this 2012. These includes better, thinner and faster 55-inch LED Smart TVs and Plasma TVs.
The new Smart TVs will have improved features to include controlling of apps via Motion Control, Voice Control and Face Recognition.
The Smart TVs are now powered by dual-core processors which allow them to operate in multi-tasking environments. Samsung Smart Hub will be able to multi-task -– like surfing the web while using or downloading multiple apps simultaneously.
Samsung Apps for TV has grown over 1,500 in the Hub and ready to download for free. In addition to popular favorites such as YouTube, Daily Motion, Vimeo, AOLHD, Facebook, Twitter and TIME TV, new apps in 2012 include Angry Birds, Samsung’s Exclusive Bluray Blockbuster’s Blupass and Viki Premiere.
These Smart TVs will also be future proof. There is a simple slot-in to the back of TV for Samsung’s Evolution Kit so any new TV technology can be added via that socket.
More on the individual Smart TV models next week as we take a closer look and experience it first-hand on Monday for the hotel sleep-over.
Disclosure: Samsung Phils. gave all invited guests and members of media a home theater system during last night’s event. We also got one.
