Along with the new BRAVIA TVs, Sony has also unveiled a new display technology for the home that is capable of throwing 4K HDR projections at up to 120-inches – the Sony LSPX-A1 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector.
At first glance, the LSPX-A1 looks more like a coffee table than a projector. It sports an artificial marble top, aluminum frame, and wooden shelf, but inside it is a 4K SXRD projection system with Z-Phosphore laser light, capable of projecting 4K images at up to 2,500 lumens. Place the projector right next to a wall and it can project an 85-inch screen or 120-inches if you move it 9.6-inches away.
Other features include Sony’s TRILUMINOS color technology, organic glass tube tweeters with Advanced Vertical Drive Technology for a 360-degree soundstage, a subwoofer, Bluetooth 4.2 for remote control, high dynamic contrast, and HDR compatibility.
The pricing and availability of the Sony LSPX-A1 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector are yet to be announced.
