Smart SIM registration is waaaay too slower compared with Globe Telecom. It took me around 5 minutes to complete filling up the online forms with the former while with Smart, it seems like forever, plus the One Time Pin (OTP) took you minutes to receive.Seems there’s a problem with their webpages/networks, which at times seem to hang and must’ve been made to be rushed by their IT personnel/engineers, just to comply with NTC hence, the glitches especially while uploading your files (ID+2×2/selfie). They are unprepared for this.Good thing, there’s still a few more months to go to beat the deadline. If you go to their assistance desk in the malls, they will just simply ask you to get a QR code, and you still have to do the registration, by yourself. I feel sorry for those Filipinos who are not too techie or needs the assistance of their family to do the registration, for themselves. I think, these would pose a problem for the authorities in the coming months, how to enrol the 170 million subscribers, in a short period of time. It would seem to be more difficult to convince the public, over than/compared to having the mandatory vaccine shots and boosters against COVID. Another concern, this would also raise privacy issues, like Philippines sort of becoming like communist China. How could we be sure that our data would not be used for government surveillance in the future and these would be safe in the hands of the 2 telcos?

Telco’s are tech company and its shameful how un prepared they are in maintaining a website for sim registration. Theyre suppose to be the one who knows better on managing the influx users registering
