realme put out a solid lineup under its DIZO brand to start its year and one of the products released is another budget earbud, the DIZO GoPods Neo, promising to help you communicate with your loved ones on the go. Check out our initial impressions below.
Checking out the design, it has a compact pebble-like design casing. There’s the charging indicator upfront, a Type C port at the back, and DIZO branding on top.
Open the case, you will find the earbuds. These are more on the lines of rounded earbuds and have a flat surface with a glossy chrome finish with the rest of the body in a matte texture. The earbuds are IPX5 water-resistant, so you can use it for your intense workout sessions.
These earbuds are lightweight and sit in the ears comfortably, provided you get a good fit with the provided ear tips. As with any earbuds, wearing these for long periods of time could cause some discomfort so you might want to consider that when buying this product.
Pairing earbuds are pretty straightforward nowadays. Open the case, then connect to it using your smartphone’s Bluetooth, and you’re good to go. You can also pair the earbuds with the realme Link app wherein you can customize touch functions, change modes, switch between EQ presets, etc. It will also help in upgrading the firmware of these earphones.
The earbuds feature touch controls, like usual double-tap to Play/Pause music or can be used for answering and ending calls, triple-tap to play next song, then long press for 2 seconds for reject call, and press both earphones simultaneously for 2 seconds to activate/deactivate Game Mode. Again you can customize it through the realme Link App if you want to.
DIZO GoPods Neo comes with support for Active Noise Cancellation up to 25 decibels, however, the ANC is not as good as we prefer. There’s also a transparency mode that allows you to hear and talk to people around you, so you can easily make conversation with people near you without having the need to take off the buds.
The sound quality is decent, and it’ll be likable by those who frequently listen to bass-heavy tracks. Seems like the brand has a preference for those who always like to drop the beat way, way low.
In terms of battery life, the company claims that these buds can last up to 28 hours with the case and up to 7 hours with just the buds and you can get up to 3 hours of playback with just a 10-minute charge.
DIZO GoPods Neo is available in 2 color variants – Deep Blue and Aurora (White) and will be available at the price of PHP 1,999.
