Back in December, realme launched its newest smartwatch in India, the realme Watch S Pro. It features a 1.30-inch AMOLED touch screen with 454 x 454x resolution 5ATM water resistance, Dual-Satellite GPS, Blood Oxygen Monitor, Heart Rate Monitor, Sleep monitor, supports 15 different sports modes, and has a 14-day battery life. It has finally arrived in the Philippines, so check out our hands-on below.
Let’s start with the packaging. The box contains the realme Watch S Pro, its magnetic charging puck, and the manual. The smartwatch features a sporty and stylish design that reminds us of a traditional chronograph.
It’s got a large 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen on the front, two control buttons on the right side, and sensors at the bottom. The straps, on the other hand, are made of soft silicone.
It’s a large watch with a decent heft, which is understandable given that it’s made of stainless steel, so you can definitely feel that it’s there on your wrist. The silicone strap is comfortable, though, so we didn’t mind wearing it for hours.
Setting up requires the use of the realme Link app, which is available for Android and iOS. After signing in to your realme Link account, the app will start searching for devices, but you can go ahead and scan the QR code on the watch for quick pairing. It will connect via Bluetooth, accept the pairing, and you’re good to go.
From the app, you’ll be able to update the smartwatch’s firmware, which we recommend that you do first before you explore the features. It has settings to activate call reminders, notifications, water reminders, alarm clock, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, Weather, music playback control, camera control, and Find My Phone. Of course, a smartwatch is not complete without watch faces, and we’re glad to see that the realme Link app has plenty of it available. You can also upload your own photo and use it as a background.
The screen is excellent for a smartwatch. At 454 x 454x resolution, it has a pixel density of 326ppi, which looks sharp. It also has a maximum brightness of 450 nits, so outdoor legibility is not a problem. Since it has an AMOLED panel, it has great contrast and punchy colors with deep blacks. You can also activate the Always-on Display feature, so you easily check the time with a glance.
The top button works like a lock and exit for the interface, while the bottom button brings you right away to the exercise modes. Swiping left to right will show you physical activity stats, weather, sleep monitor, heart rate scanner, music control, and shortcuts.
From the home screen, swipe down to reveal the notifications, or swipe up to bring up other applications like alarm, Settings, compass, Sp02 monitor, breathing training, and workout records, to name a few.
As for other features, the realme Watch S Pro features 15 Sports Modes, which includes Swimming mode, thanks to the 5ATM water resistance, meaning you can take it underwater for up to 50 meters. If you’re out for a run, it can also track your progress and position, thanks to the Dual-Satellite GPS.
A dual-core processor powers the realme Watch S Pro. The performance is great as it is responsive, wakes up right away when we tilt our wrist and doesn’t lag. For the battery life, it can last up to 14 days.
The realme Watch S Pro is priced at PHP 8,990USD 153INR 12,987EUR 146CNY 1,116 (PHP 7,690USD 131INR 11,109EUR 125CNY 954 at Shopee’s 3.3 Mega Shopping Sale). Given the premium materials and features, this is definitely a bang-for-the-buck smartwatch that you shouldn’t miss out on.
