Timex is getting into the wearable market with a stand-alone smartwatch. The Timex Ironman One GPS+ doesn’t need to pair with your smartphoneas it comes with its own built-in GPS and 3G radio.
The Ironman One GPS+ looks like any other Ironman watch from Timex but has more things to go for it.
One is the always-on Mirasol display (manufactured by Qualcomm for their Toq smartwatch) and cellular capabilities like simple SMS functions.
The GPS is capable of live-tracking your location and running course when you go for a jog. The 4GB internal storage can store media files and can stream music to your wireless earphones via Bluetooth.
The watch can last up to 3 days on normal use or about 8 hours when everything else (3G, GPS) is activated.
The Ironman One GPS+ will sell for $399.
