Facebook announces the Facebook Lite app for Android

Social Media giant, Facebook, has announced today a new version of its Facebook app that uses less data and works well across all networks, the Facebook Lite.

Facebook Lite, as its name suggests, is a stripped-down version of Facebook’s main app designed to work well on low-tier Android phones and 2G networks or areas with slow or unstable connections. The app quietly became available back in January but only in select markets.

It is less than 1MB in size for quick download and load but includes Facebook’s core features like News Feed, status updates, photos, and notifications.

Facebook Lite is currently rolling out in Asia, followed by Latin America, Africa and Europe.

search ka na lang ng apk sa net. dami nman sources for free download. masyadong malaki kinakain na data/cache ng regular fb app kaya mas ok pa rin ang fb lite. naka integrate pa ang messanger. :)

… Yet it’s still not “available for your country.”
Unfair, Facebook. The average web browser is still the best solution if you’re concerned about battery life.
