Every WordPress 2.0 convert knows it is now integrated with the new anti-spam plugin called Akismet. Before that I’ve been using WP Hashcash and Spam Karma 2 to fight off comment and trackback spams. (SK 2 seems to be doing a real good job too!)
With Akismet, you have an entire remotely-hosted system that checks every single comments and trackbacks, run hundreds of test to figure it out and sends back a thumbs up or a thumbs down.
So far, Akismet has been doing great with the blogs that I have already upgraded to WP 2.0. I no longer get spam alerts of any sort and I have yet to see Akismet falsely tag a legit comment or trackback.
Anybody else getting bugged with spam after WP 2.0?
Thanks for the post! it will help to remove spam massages from my blog. You can check it out Micropro
inis na ako sa spam… aalis na lang ako sa wordpress period… hehehe j/k…
yeah I have askimet and so far walang spam na nakakalusot… yipee…
pero shempre… maraming magagaling na spambot developers sa mga zombie networks… sooner or later they will break askimet as well… pero for now, enjoyin muna natin ang askimet.
for some reason people say spam karma is attacking their comments, even though theyre not spammers, maybe this new one will be better.
Yuga,
I installed Akismet when I started getting close to 50 comment spams a day. Since I installed it, it only missed two spam comments in weeks (I installed it as soon as it was offered for download).

ive been trying to reach you by cell and text. kinukulit ako ng support mo sa plogh. im not used to using the client ctr.
I just upgraded to 2.0 a couple of days ago and haven’t tried akismet yet. I’m thinking about trying it as everyone I’ve heard from who has used it likes it.
I’ve been using authimage since July to deal with my spam. It displays an image with some text in it, and the commenter has to enter the text. So far I haven’t gotten a single spam comment.
