Senate committee to issue Pagcor resolution suspending e-sabong

A Senate panel proposed to issue a resolution to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) to suspend all the licenses of e-sabong operators due to cases of missing 31 “sabungeros.”

In a report by Inquirer.net, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, with support from Senator Panfilo Lacson, proposed that the panel issue a resolution to Pagcor to suspend the operations and existing e-sabong licenses of Belvedere Vista Corp., Lucky 8 Star Quest Inc., Visayas Cockers Club Inc., Jade Entertainment And Gaming Technologies, Inc., Newin Cockers Alliance Gaming Corp., Philippine Cockfighting International Inc., and Golden Buzzer, Inc. Senator Francis Tolentino also proposed the temporary removal of e-sabong payment system from the GCash menu.

When no member objected to the motion, Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa directed the committee to immediately issue the resolution.

Vice President of E-Sabong Licensing Department of Pagcor, Diane Erica Jogno, who is present in the hearing said that Pagcor is okay with the suspension and will seek approval from the Office of the President to suspend e-sabong operations in the country.

“Sabungeros” or cockfighting aficionados went missing since January. The PNP and the NBI are already investigating the disappearances.

They MUST suspend it, those operators are really into cock fight rigging,
their modus operandi is finding weak and poorly trained roosters and
put it up against those stronger and well trained ones then the operator
or the fixer with connivance to those corrupt “Sabungeros” will bet against
those poorly trained roosters simply by placing it on a certain schedule.
As a result. they are winning millions and millions every week by doing it,
milking the betting public in an unfair fixed game.

Unfortunately to those who lost millions and found out that the game is
rigged in connivance with those corrupt sabungeros, the payback is
kidnap them and teach them a lesson and eventually whack them, but
still it doesn’t teaches them a lesson since the amount of money they are
getting from those greedy operators are huge and very tempting, thats
why it continues to be more apparent now its alarming.

The NBI should be placed in charge of the investigation not the PNP
because the PNP is somewhat shady on their investigation because
they too are involved. The National Government should press criminal
charges on those operators as well because they know some games
they are sponsoring are fixed and they are profiting from it and somehow
partly responsible with the disappearances of those sabungeros.
